Some of the most powerful and prominent themes in A Midsummer Night's Dream are love & the disempowerment of women. In my essay my main points are discussing these themes and their role in the play. My playlist aims to simplify the language and make it so the audience can understand the play without realizing it. Music makes people feel a certain way without them realizing it and that is what my playlist aims to do. I was pleasantly surprised with how well my project turned out because as i dove into the theme of disempowerment of women I found there was truly so much behind it in the play and the role men and women had in society. My playlist is also something I am very proud of because I truly feel as though i found the perfect songs for the play and they really help bring more emotion to the scenes themselves. Throughout the process I came up with new ideas and new outlooks that all contributed to the overall product. I spent hours picking out songs that gave value to the play yet also aided in highlighting the two themes I wanted to stand out. I challenge readers to dig deeper into the text and see that stereotypes that are sprinkled throughout the play.
