1970’s: The 1970s are famous for bell-bottoms and the rise of disco, but also was an era of economic struggle, cultural change and technological innovation. The 70’s were filled with social progressive values that originated in the 60’s yet continued to grow and flourish throughout the following decade. This era is remembered for women's rights, gay rights and environmental movements as well as the Watergate scandal, the energy crisis and the ongoing Vietnam War. With the invention of the mobile phone, communication was easier than before. The average person now able to purchase a camera that captures all moments of life. Events like mass protests after Nixon announced he was expanding the Vietnam war proved that there was a restlessness and constant questioning of traditional authority.
